Great and updated product is much better!
This is great and sturdy. Holds my large macro lens with a battery grip DSLR. I have nothing bad to say about this product and it is just so cheap. It does not feel cheap though and I bought this because it was the cheapest. This is great for focus stacking and has clicks not a smooth slide. The clicks are subtle and don't actually make it shaky or anything. The clicks are great because they make knowing when to take the next image in your stack easier.

Works great for occasional use
Professional quality? No, no, of course not! But you already knew that when you saw the cheap price, didn't you? The question is, does it work passably well for occasional macro photography. The answer is Yes, it does! It's fine, actually. There are just a couple of things you should be aware of:1) It has 2 knobs - one turns the gear which moves the rail back and forth, and the other locks it in place. The gear is built to fairly loose tolerances, meaning it wiggles and the knob itself is not damped and does not offer any resistance. So if the locking knob is not tightened and you tilt the camera too far (not uncommon in macro photography because you're often facing the camera downward), the camera and rail can easily slide right out of the bracket and crash on the ground. I'd hate to see you accidentally destroy your camera or expensive macro lens, so please, for the love of Pete, TIGHTEN THE LOCKING KNOB! It's really an awareness thing. Once you realize that this little gizmo has the power to wreck your camera if you're not paying attention, you'll be more careful and you'll be fine.2) The item description says that this product is for Canon, Nikon, and Sony. It's really for ANY camera, as long as that camera has a standard tripod mounting hole at the bottom, which means 99% of all cameras in existence. Works fine with my Pentax cameras and any other brand.3) As mentioned earlier, the gear is not built to tight tolerances. It wiggles a little bit back and forth and side to side. This will be fine for most people... even if you're focus stacking, most focus stacking software will have no trouble aligning the images even if the rail wiggled a half millimeter or so between shots. But if you're doing super high precision work where you have to make sure the focus plane is absolutely straight, or if you need to precisely measure the increments between shots, then look elsewhere. Again, you get what you pay for. For light duty use this thing is great.

Nice product ... but !
It is a very nice product with very nice material with great price, i ordered 2 pieces to make it 4 way rail not only 2, it was delivered before the estimated delivery date, really great seller, but one of them was not working at all, seems it was stuck and don't want to move at all, i tried to move it using little more force till it moved, but it was not as smooth as the other piece, and there was a missing small (very tiny) screws around the moving nob, after that when i put it on the tripod, before putting the camera on it, i found the moving nob goes out in my hand, i put it again but it is not fixed on its place again, it can goes out at any time, that's why it takes only 3 stars

Works Great on My DIY Steadicam
The media could not be loaded. Like a lot of other people out there, I got this slider to use it on my DIY steadicam. It worked really well for the steadicam, which I've posted about much more extensively online under the heading of "All Wood DIY Steadicam." This slider is ideal for a steadicam for two reasons: it allows you to use different lens lengths without rebalancing the steadicam, and it accommodates a number of camera orientations and positions.Note that there are two different threaded holes on the bottom of this slider. I only used one to connect to my steadicam, as that is very solid. This is a great slider for a DSLR at this low price. Very nice.

Good rail for the price, could be more tightly made
Great deal for the price. It's solid metal and feels like it, it's not lightweight for its size. However it doesn't allow as fine of adjustments as I was hoping for my macro work. the adjustment knobs are also pretty wobbly and loose. In the end I got it to work, but I had to keep one hand on the adjustment knob at all times with tension so it would move consistently. I'm shooting at about 2.5X (1:2.5), if you're not shooting as close up it should be just fine. The rubber pad does keep the camera in place, and overall it works fine. I just wish the knobs weren't so loose and had finer adjustments possible.

Very happy with this device for my purpose
I am very happy with this device and it was exactly what I needed. The very low cost was a big plus.I got a teleprompter for home office use, where you have to have alignment between a horizontal phone or ipad in front, and a glass mirror and hood, and a camera in the back. I have a SONY ZV-1 camera, which has the tripod screw in the bottom, offset from the lens. Therefore, my camera would not fit into the hole in the "hood" when it was mounting on the rear rail. I mounted this Macro Rail Slider sideways and that let me move the camera a half inch left and right to align it with the teleprompter hood. PERFECT. Also, my ZV-1 is a very small camera, and this device raises the base of the camera about 18mm or 3/4", bringing the axis of the lens into line with the hood . Overall, I find it is plenty well engineered but it is a simple device, it is not a Swiss watch. The large knob moves the rack, and the small knob is just a tightening knob. Very simple.
