Perfect Fit
Bought this for the dovetail on my 91/30 and it fits like it was made for it. The length of dovetail is exactly equal to the one on the Mosin. I don't care for the over hang of the picatinny rail but its not to big a deal.I drilled a divot into the rifle so the set screw would have something to lock into, then I Loctited all the screws. The whole thing seems pretty solid.Haven't shot it yet but when I do ill update. 8/21/13UPDATE:9-13-13Adding a star because this thing worked like a champ. Shot about 20 rounds and everything held together nice and tight. The previous sight mounted rail fell apart after about 10.If your looking for a dovetail mount for your Mosin, have no fear about this product, especially at it's price.

The best solution for mounting a scope on an air rifle / .22 or Mosin Nagant*
The 3/8 dove tail to Weaver is as advertised. I used it on a .22 rifle and it attached to the firearm easily and the scope , 4x w 1 inch tube was mounted with Weaver style rings. I will purchase another for use on a Mosin Nagant which will be set up with a 2x7 Scout type scope. For use on the MN, the tangent sight must be completely removed to access the 11mm dove tail. That requires less work than a permanent drilled and tapped mount. The product was shipped and received promptly and the price is right.PS: In regards to reports of product defects... the product I received worked as intended with no flaws; and for my purposes and application, it works perfectly.

Works but not perfect
Fits but does not align perfectly on the gun sits about 2 or 3 degrees off when tightened up but will work with my red dot sight. It is well built and will work for my Savage 22LR plinker!

Highly recommend this type mount for Mosin Nagant owners. No cutting wood, no bending bolt, lots of room to use stripper clips.
Excellent and easy to install in place of original Mosin Nagant rear sight. I put a long eye 2-7 x 39 scope on this. It has 3 mounting screws not just the two shown. The one extra screw is in the middle of the two shown. I also added #6 lock washers instead of loc-tight to keep it from loosening while shooting. Solid and dependable! I recommend you use a spray lube on the original rear sight a few days soaking makes the rusty parts come off much easier to drift out the two pins then tap old rear sight forward. It does require you to take off the hand guard to do that.

Nicely made, but...
I needed an adapter to mount a reflex sight on my new Benji NP pistol, and decided to take a chance on this one given the previous reviews. When it arrived today I immediately mounted it, and immediately I was totally upset that it canted (leaned) far to the left along the barrel's sight path. Looking down the rail it would appear to be mounted at about 11 o'clock vs. 12 o'clock, aka perpendicular.I replaced it into the package, which btw is nicely done- easy to open, nicely showing all the parts for easy preview. After taking a few hours break I returned and again tried mounting the rail. I even grabbed one of my calipers to get to the bottom of the problem, as I could measure within .001" of how the thing is machined. Turns out that "3/8 / 11mm" descriptor found so frequently with these adapters is actually quite accurate: The small end of the dovetail is .375, while the outside dimension is .433, or 11mm.The alignment problem is all in how the parts mate upon tightening, therefore the hole locations must be accurate for the rail to line up nicely when it clamps up. In my case there are 3 screws, not 2 as pictured, and all 3 are in a straight line. However, for some reason the depth of the rail on the pistol does not seem to match exactly the theoretical centerline on the mount adapter, so it would not sit perpendicular to the pistol. After trying my best to align the rail to the barrel, it simply would not sit straight. Then, on a whim, I decided to reverse the direction of the entire rail, and voila! The rail now sits almost- but not perfectly- in line with the barrel! Fully tightened, it now site only about 1-2 degrees off perpendicular- not perfect, but I'm sure it can be adjusted out once I receive the reflex sight. Given that this is just for target/plinking as an extra take-along, it'll be livable; had this been the case on my favorite rifle it surely would have remained a return item.If you experience the same problem, as I know others have, it may be worth a shot to try reversing the mount to see if it helps. At least in this case it saved me from having to deal with another whole shopping session in the hopes another style might suffice.

Held Perfectly for a Mosin Nagant M91/30
You read right, it held perfectly with my scope on it as well. I shot off over 60 rounds, did not come loose at all. It stayed true and works great. Now people, dont get intimidated when the back of the package says it's for .22/airsoft rifles. The Dovetail 3/8 is the modern standard for those two, but the dovetail 3/8 mount has been around for ages. If you are worried about the screws getting loose during firing, then by all means goto lowes or home depot and purchase some blue lock tite. This is perfect and there has been no regrets.

I'm very pleased with it
I got this rail to replace my Brass Stacker rail. Some of the reviews I read said that one plroblem with this set up is that it would move after shooting 20ish rounds. I filed two groves on each side that lined up with where the original pins went through and used the bolts from my Brass Stacker to help prevent it moving from the recoil. It also has a scre that tightens down onto the top of the dovetail rail. I had thought about drilling a very shallow hole, just enough to keep the rail from sliding, It would probably work as well as what I have set up. The only problem I've noticed with it is that the holes drilled for the screw are not perfectly level with each other, but that seems to be more cosmetic than anything. I've only taken it out to shoot once, but put quite a few rounds through it after sighting it in and it hasn't moved at all. All in all, I'm very pleased with it!
