Manfrotto 038 Double Super Clamp

I’ve purchased 2 Double Super Clamps to adjust the lightning setup in my studio. I’ve been using them for several weeks, before writing this review. It might sound obvious, but this dual Super Clamp offers an excellent grip. Currently, my lightning setup includes an adjustable IKEA curtain crossbar and two Manfrotto AutoPole 2 poles. Before I purchased the Dual Super Clamp, I've been using an improvised solution to attach between them - but the crossbar couldn’t carry the weight. Finally, I got 2 units of the Manfrotto Dual Super Clamp, and my life changed for the best - the crossbar is safe in its place, no unwanted movement and copes well with the weight of the equipment I load on it, without rotating. Each Super Clamp has it's own wedge insert. Thus, you can attach the Dual Super Clamp to more than just rounded tubes. Also, since this Dual Super Clamp is consisted of 2 Super Clamps, each of them has a socket to fit a stud into it. This gives added value to the Dual Super Clamp, that is mainly used to attach 2 tubes/crossbars to each other. I wish though, that Manfrotto would include at least 1 stud with it, because it’s not included in the package. Extending a clamp too much will cause the nut (and other parts) to fall out of their place - I keep wondering why no one applies a solution to prevent from the nut to release from its place when it reaches the max width. Overall, if you have a lightning setup/background support kit that involves a crossbar and 2 vertical poles, I strongly advise you to consider this Dual Super Clamp. I OWN 3 CLAMPS, I PURCHASED THIS ONE TO SPLIT IT APART AND USE TWO CLAPS TO MOUNT TWO MULTIPOSITION ARMS FOR MY CAMMERA AND LIGHTS. MOST OF THE FILMING,LIGHTING ISSUES IN PHOTOGRAPHY WILL BE SOLVED TEMPORARE OR INDEFINETLY WITH THIS CLAMPS, IT ALSO HAS MULTIPLE FITTING OPTIONS. THERE IS NOT MUCH I CAN SAY ABOUT THIS, BESIDES THAT IT IS BUILT LIKE A ROCK, WILL OUT PERFORM AND OUTLAST EVERYTHING ON THE PHOTOGRAPY WORLD, MY MANFROTO EQUIPMENT IS ABOUT 15-20 YS OLD AVG. AND IT IS IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION. I LOVE THIS CLAMPS AND WILL BUY MANY MORE OVER THE TIME.

Heavy and overpriced. Had it on my 2023 Spyder F3 and it broke holding a 360 camera and almost lost it.

The item works great for my locksmith shop. The item was shipped in a plastic bag and items in the box came out of its container. Banged around during shipping, inside plastic bag. Minor dents on the finish surface area. Shipping out like China in a garbage bags. Total dislike the package system.

Many accessories try to achieve vertical tilt by supporting the load at a single point. That may make the setup more compact, but I’ve never been comfortable relying on a single point of support to handle the stress and flex coming from the mounted object. This clamp uses a much more solid mechanical structure instead of depending on a single point. It feels significantly more secure, and if anything ever started loosening, it would likely be noticeable before becoming a failure point. I’m using it to mount a selfie stick to a small dolly, and it works perfectly for that purpose. Very solid and well-built. I’m very satisfied with it.

I purchased 2 of these. Great build quality and dose about as many applications as you would have imagination and creativity. I use them in the field and in studio camera and lighting applications. These can be broken-down into two single Super Clamps or used as doubles. The build quality it tops as is most of Manfrotto's gear, smooth, positive, non-binding operation...

The Super Clamps are great. This is just two screwed together. I needed two, and this was cheaper than buying both individually. I used a 4mm hex wrench to remove the two silver screws located in one of the the V-shaped jaws. Those metric fasteners will be good to keep around. Easy easy.

I purchased this to use with my insta360. It worked out fantastic.
