Rite Lite LPL704 Battery-Operated LED Under-Cabinet Track Light Medium

Arrived on time, well packaged, Easily assembled. Well suited for it's task. Unless you live where can't make any marks at all on the wall surface, I recommend permanent mount of the backing plate (just placement of the two screws provided & it's really easy) - rather than mounting the whole unit the provided Velcro. Four swivel lamps provide a nice bluish-white LED light - quite bright for a portable product - requires 6 "AAA" batteries. This device is a very nice alternative to provide light in areas where a permanent light from the house service isn't possible - such as a dark, un-wired closet or under-the-counter storage areas. The "on-off" switch is on the lateral part pf the frame about halfway from each end - it controls all lamps. I like it & I'd highly recommend it for difficult to access un-wired areas requiring lighting. It's not like a flood of stage lighting, but it's very nice for appropriate tasks.

For those who are expecting a tremendeous amount of light given out by these LEDs, consider that 1. these are Cordless, they do NOT run off a electrical cord, 2. they run on 6 AA batteries, and since they are LEDS, they can power it just enough for it to run for quite sometime. 3. its priced at USD$21.17. what do you expect? halogen comparative light output? you do get what you pay for. and saying such, i am completely satisfied with my purchase. i keep two of these, one for under the kitchen sink (for leak problems et al) and one in the closet space. both give a SUBSTANTIAL amount of light, without me running a line from a electrical outlet. 1. its portable. 2. since it runs on batteries, it can be used during power outages 3. multiple directionality. albeit it not enough to blow your eyes out, it does work. in summary, you do get what you pay for. and for what its worth, i think its good for the price. Want something brighter? go halogen and let me see you lug it around. better yet, see how much it cost compared to this easy fix. *edited 040614* just updated review based on previous comments, thank you for the input!

So when I first got this in the mail I was delighted to find out that it would fit right under the shelf of my desk. The hope was to make it like a desk lamp and free up some space so I could fit my laptop and textbooks side by side without issue. It's fashioned well, although the light is a little weaker then what I had anticipated. I still need my old desk lamp in order to avoid eyestrain while doing my homework. MY problem came a couple days ago when my light inexplicably fell down, hitting the top of my laptop in the middle of the night. Come to find out that the adhesive on the back of the Velcro pads is actually peeling away, leaving weak support for this light. Since this light is MEANT to be suspended on a ceiling (I have mine on the underside wood of my desk shelf)....I didn't put it on a weird surface or anything and it's peeling off?! It can be fixed I supposed by going to Wal-mart or something and buying different (hopefully stronger) Velcro pads, but it's disappointed to pay almost $20 with shipping for something that barely lasted a week. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT...

I could see paying $20 for this in a store without hesitation. It's well made and works great. There is apparently a model that comes with a wall adapter. This is battery operated, 6 AAA. Batteries not included. There's an on-off button in the middle edge. On, Bright, Less bright, Off. The LEDs can be turned and pointed to any desired position, so don't fret over the exact location. Two options for mounting - use the two sticky strips or the 2 small phillips head screws, which are tucked away in one of the battery holders. The battery holders have sliding covers. The one with the screws may be a bit difficult to get off because the screws catch on the cover. Don't use force. The mount is included. Just thread the two screws through the mount-plate holes and then you slide the track light sideways over the plate's two knobs. I don't know if the sticky tabs would be good enough to last a long time. Screw mounting advised. I'm guessing it's about 20W equivalent, which is plenty for under a kitchen counter.

The lights are pretty good - not as bright as I would hope but you can't get everything with battery operated LED's. It is nice not having to worry about wires but would be nice if they were able to be used with a remote vs. having to press the button to turn on and off. I bought 3 of these and put one in the top part of my computer desk where the light helped at night for typing etc. but was out of sight so it didn't look clunky. The problem was the adhesive pads on each side didn't work the light keeps falling down and I don't want to screw the light into the desk. Would give 5 stars if they made it to be used with remote and made the adhesive pads stick longterm.

I read all of the reviews, and I mean ALL, and was super confused about the product. The product description seemed to be everything I was looking for, but the reviews were so mixed, I didn't know what to do. In the end, I thought to myself that i would order them and if they weren't for me, I would just return them. Thankfully, I didn't have to! They are exactly what I was looking for. My purpose for them: under the cabinet lighting without cumbersome and ugly wiring. They are bright enough to prepare food under. They have thre settings, bright, dim, off. They do not blind the kids looking up at them from another angle. They actually look sleek and modern. The lights don't have that dreaded blue tinge as Christmas LED lights have. Some people have complained that the batteries don't last long, but I'm not sure what they are using them for and for how long. I use them about 3 or 4 times a day for 10 minute stretches, and after a week, they are still going strong. They have 2 ways to mount them. With screws or with Velcro. I opted for the Velcro. Whatever method you use, the lights are easy to dismount in order to get to the battery compartment and change them. If I were to use these more often and had to change tons of batteries (6 AAA batteries) I would probably just get a battery charger and 12 rechargeable batteries in order not to be wasteful. All in all, I would absolutely, undoubtedly, without hesitation recommend these for daily under-cabinet lighting. Just as with everything, don't forget to turn them off when you are done!

First, the bad. It's not that bright. I've had plenty of LED-based products (flashlights, lanterns, emergency lighting, etc.) and they all worked wonderfully and were nice and vibrant. This product in particular is very dim and dull in comparison to all of them, so definitely keep that in mind. Don't get me wrong, the output is okay and isn't the worst thing in the world, but I just wish it had a bit more oomph. That being said, the rest of the device works great. I love that it's battery powered and super portable. The fact that each light head swivels and can be angled is very, very handy as well and helps increase the range of light. These features alone make it a lifesaver for power outages. As for everyday activities, it's great for getting light into the various nooks and crannies of your house (i.e., under the kitchen, closets, crawlspaces, etc.). It's also pretty stylish; it feels cheap and plastic-y, but at least it looks great. Overall, I'd recommend it, just keep in mind that the pictures on Amazon make it seem brighter than it actually is. Also, be sure to pick up some stronger straps if you want to hang it on the wall without drilling holes; the included velcro strips are very low quality and fell apart on me within a couple weeks of use.

I truly love these little 'go anywhere' lights. The lights are bright and radiate for a good distance. We live in an older house with limited electric outlets and few overhead lights. These little lights are just what we need. They can go just about anywhere space allows, and the fact that they require no electricity makes them excellent emergency lights as well. Even on batteries the LED lights are bright, yet, they seem to take little power and the batteries last a good while. The electric utilities in our area a pretty high, so we even often use these lights instead of the electric light to save money on our utilities. They have a high and low beam which is a plus for us. I use them in my kitchen, closets, pantry, laundry area, storage shed and a couple just move from room to room as needed. I tried two of the 4 light units, and as soon as I had them up in the kitchen and turned them on my head was full of ideas where we could also use them. So I got 3 more of the 4 lights and 4 of the shorter 3 lights. All the lights on both the 3 & 4 light units turn 360 degrees independently, so you can have the light where you want/need it separately. That is another great plus, as you can light more than one area from the same unit. I'll be getting more of these for Christmas and Birthday gifts for family and friends. Those who have seen mine really like them, and they work so well and the light is so bright they couldn't believe they were simply battery operated. So, I know they would appreciate having them too. And in an emergency, they may be one of their best friends. The price for the product is very reasonable, and the service on processing and delivery was very good on both orders. I will be spreading the word on these great lights for sure. Hmmm...I wonder if Santa knows about them yet. ;-)

Excelente producto. Viene para instalar con tornillos o con velcro, incluye ambos en el paquete. La 4 luces puedes irientarse en cualquier dirección. Además sí es cierto que puede funcionar a la perfección sólo con 3 pilas (se supone que requiere 6. Tres de cada lado). Muy buena iluminación y tiene 2 niveles de intensidad. La entrega fué antes del tiempo estimado y en excelentes condiciones el embalaje y el producto. Compré 4 y tengo pensado comprar otros 2.

I like it. It's an attractive unit, however I thought it would be somewhat brighter. I guess it depends what use a person has in mind for it. It would no doubt be very good in cupboards, closets, etc.

Es Perfecto para espacios pequeños sin conexion electrica, emite una luz calida suficiente para iluminar un closet. El unico inconveniente es que utiliza 6 pilas AAA pero las usa como de reserva , ya que puede funcionar solo con 3. El tiempo de vida de las baterias es extenso por ser Led , llevo mas de 6 meses y no he cambiado el primer paquete de baterias

So far, this is great under my kitchen cupboard. It's plenty bright enough; love that the lights can be directed. Easy to install. Just interested to see how often the batteries will need to be changed.
