Works very well
This machine arrived on Sunday afternoon and, as of Thursday afternoon, I am very happy with it. Yes, you do have to plan your use in order to melt the wax and then wait for the right temp. That doesn't bother me, once I figured out a routine. I use a candy thermometer to check the heat and dip my hands at any temp in the 120's range. My therapist told me at the clinic to do the first dip in and out of the wax very quickly, as the wax will feel too hot at first, then I can increase the length of time of the dip. I build up about 8 layers before bagging my hand. The scent included with the bath is not unpleasant, but way too strong. I got around this because, thanks to previous reviewers, I knew to buy some unscented. I used one block of the scented, and three packages of unscented. Yes, I believe you need 4 pounds instead of 3, if you want to dip a foot, or cover your wrists as I need to do. I find the included bags a bit small to maneuver onto my hands after the dip, and use cheap one gallon plastic bags from the grocery. I can buy 40 for $1.25 and they're easier for me to use. I recommend opening the bags before you start, and stand them up on their side, as far open as possible. This is specially helpful for the second hand. Still have to use my teeth a bit to pull them on, but unless you have a helper, it works OK. The thick mitts are just fine, and help keep your hands warm for a longer time. The wax does come off like a glove for me, and I reuse, since I'm the only one using the bath. To the reviewer who said they could not get their hands in the bath, I wonder if they were trying to do both at once. You can only do one hand at a time. Even my therapist does one hand at a time, in their large professional bath. So for now, this product merits five stars. If it conks out too quickly, I'll leave another comment.

Good Quality and Price with all the items you need to get started using.
After an injury to my hand, I needed to heat my hand with paraffin 4 times per day. This bath has worked great for me! I keep the bath plugged in and turned on all the time so it is ready to go throughout the day. I keep it set at mid-point and the heat is very warm but not too hot. The bath comes with 3 pounds of wax with a subtle rain scent. I bought additional wax and liners through Walmart (because they had the best price) and then added an additional pound of wax. With 4 lbs of melted paraffin I get my hand and wrist coated nicely without the bath being too full. Since I am the only one who uses this bath, I reuse the wax with no problems. Eventually the wax will need to be replaced to freshen it up, but it has lasted me a month at 4 times a day with just a few specks of dirt on the bottom. I haven't used the bath for feet yet, but it looks like it would accommodate up to a size 9 to 10. The bath is sturdy, has a lid that fits nicely, and comes with wax, liners, and insulating gloves. All this for a very reasonable price. Glad I made the choice to go with this one. I like that there is a dial to control how hot the paraffin is.

Works as advertised - and better.
First things first: this wax bath works exactly as advertised - it takes roughly two hours to melt the wax completely, which is fast compared to many other models, and it's probably a good idea to turn down the heat some and wait before dipping once the wax melts. I'm the kind of person who is ready and willing to buy professional grade products if I can't find a recreational type of sufficient quality. And I am very pleasantly satisfied with this purchase. Now for my experience: How long it takes for the wax to melt obviously corresponds to how much wax you place in the tub. If you have three or more lbs. of wax, yes, it will take about two hours. But the less you have the faster it works. As for when to put your hand/foot in, the instructions advise waiting 25 minutes after turning down the heat before dipping. I'd say wait five, maybe ten minutes. The hotter the wax is when you dip, the more heat the wax retains and the longer your hands/feet stay warm. But do be careful with "burning" yourself. If you have the plastic protector (included part) in the bath, you should have nothing to worry about except a bit of tingling pain if you dip while the wax is too hot (fair warning: I have a high tolerance for pain, especially from heat, but I'm pretty sure my skin would burn at the same temperature as everyone else's), but I haven't even come close to burning myself. Also you'd be surprised at how much of a difference the room temperature makes at using this wax bath. Bottom line: not only would I recommend this to a friend, I'd recommend it to my boss or in-laws or anyone I would want to impress. One possible drawback, though, that I should mention: while this bath is great for dipping, it's not so easy to use for painting the wax with a brush onto an area of the body, like a shoulder. That might have something to do with the fact that the heat source is exclusively from the bottom (which I can't seriously imagine being the issue), or that might have to do with the fact that I am yet to figure out how to cover the wax on any non-limb so that it retains the heat better (which I suspect is the real issue). Hope this helps. Feel free to ask questions, if that's possible.

Great Machine!
Excellent product, very easy to set up and use. Always be careful of the heat of the wax before putting your skin in there, and read the instructions carefully, but yeah, if this is the kind of product you are looking for....well in my humble opinion, you can always trust Revlon anyway. I've used once already after receiving it yesterday. My surgeon suggested it for my arthritic hands for pain relief, and the skin soft side effect is just icing, because yeah, it helped with the pain and my hands are softer! Like some others stated, you will need more wax than comes with the machine, but only because you will need replacement wax when you use up what comes with the machine. I went to the grocery store and purchased 1 pound of Gulf Paraffin Wax for $5, (here on Amazon the cheapest Gulf Wax is $11.00), so when you need more wax just look in your food market store where the canning supplies are and get the Gulf Wax cheaper. It also comes packaged in 1/4 pound bricks in the Gulf Wax box, it's not one large block of wax, which makes it easier to handle and melt.

Love it.
Absolutely love this product after doing intensive search of what would be the best for me and stay in my budget. I does take 120 minutes to heat up for the first time but it was way too hot to dip my hands in it so i had to play with the dial which is the right temperature. Shortly i found that if i keep the dial inthe middle and just a bit to the right it's the perfect temperature for me. I can't keep it warm for i am not home during the day sometimes so after i plug it on again in about 2 and a half hours it heats up where i wanted to be leaving the dial from the previous usage and it's the perfect temperature so i never move the dial anywhere anymore. I guess you just have to play with it since everyone's' tolerance is different. I use scented paraffin and it's amazing how much it relaxes me at night. After everything it's done i do the dipping for my hands, wrap it in plastic bag and put my mittens on then wrap a big towel around it for 15 minutes already laying down and ready for sleep. After i take everything off, put my hemp oil based cream on my hands/wrists/upper arm since i have bad arthritis in my joints plus i had carpal tunnel release 6 months ago and have residual pain left. I go for OT as well and they do the same thing to my hands and arm. I feel much improvement after a couple of weeks and most morning the stiffness and pain is tolerable. I have size 6 feet so this is a perfect size device to be able to dip them in as well at times. My hands are smooth and it's a good feeling falling asleep after this ritual which i do most nights. I am so happy i can do some pampering for myself and don't feel robbed from my money to do so. Makes me so happy! This was a very good investment!

Takes way too long to melt
I have not actually used it yet as I am still waiting for the wax to melt. I don't know if it is my particular unit as I see the reviews are all over the place about the time it takes. The instructions say allow two hours. I have had it going for approximately 3 1/2 hours and there is still a solid chunk around. It appears to be melting as it has gone down a bit but it is so solid on top that I can't see if it is melted on bottom where the heating element is. From the looks of it I would say I am looking at another 3 to 4 hours before I will be able to use this. I will have to shut it down so I can go out. I had planned on having it melt in two hours as per the instructions, dip my hands and feet, then peel it off and then go out and run my errands. However that is not going to happen. I would look elsewhere if you want it to melt/heat faster. Update. Well I finally got around to the next step, allowed the 30 minutes to cool down before inserting hands and the wax had already started solidifying and it was still too hot to place my hands or feet into the solidifying wax. Maybe I got one with a faulty heating element. I hope Amazon gives me a refund. I waited too long before using the unit after receiving it and the date for returning is July 4th (a holiday). Try finding a UPS that is ipen on the weekend and July 4th.

Good planning will allow you to get your paraffin melted ...
Oooooooo. This is the way to ease a bit of arthritis in your hands. Or rough dry skin. Or both at the same time. I ordered some extra wax when I ordered this paraffin bath, and you will need it, because you will use up what comes with the unit. My only complaint about this paraffin bath is that it takes several hours for the solid paraffin to completely melt, so you can't use it on a sudden whim. Then you have to turn the heat DOWN from "melt paraffin" to "comfortable for hands" or it will be too hot. Good planning will allow you to get your paraffin melted in the bath in time to enjoy a dip. This paraffin bath comes with 30 plastic bags to put over your hands when you finish dipping them several times in the melted paraffin, so you don't drip wax all over the floor. Then you slip them into one of the 2 pink insulated mittens that come with the paraffin bath, and sit and enjoy the therapeutic warmth. You will love how smooth your skin is after using this. It might take a few treatments for severely dry hands, but it will happen. Be cautioned that you can't use this if there is any open wound or crack in the skin. Because of its generous size, you can also use it for your feet. I would not reuse the paraffin wax for my hands after I immersed my feet, however.

Doesn’t work
I may have received a defective product. I bought this because my occupational therapist wanted me to buy it for therapy following hand surgery. I followed instructions exactly “to a T”. I melted all 3 pounds of wax on the highest setting. It melted just right in about 2 hours & turned the dial to “keep warm”. After about 30-40 mins it was becoming solid but still too hot to touch. I read reviews & suggestions. I put a candy thermometer in & waited for it to get to 125 degrees. I stirred the wax, but it was still full of chunks of wax. I dipped my hand in anyway & there was not enough wax to cover the back of my tiny child-sized hand. Pitiful! As you can see in the photos, my hand was not merely coated as they should be, but covered in thick chunks of wax. Useless. The therapist suggested I dip 6 times, twice a day. I couldn’t dip in for a 2nd coating. And it was extremely HOT at 125. Intolerably hot. My hand was bright red from the wax when I peeled it off. So I kept it on “keep warm” & tried again later. I called the company to see what I was doing wrong. They said that I did it just right & should return it or exchange it for another one. When I tried again later, I decided I would wait for it to get to 120, as it may be more comfortable. I was unable to dip my hand in the solid wax, even after trying to stir it up, at 120 degrees. It was just too solid. I am disappointed to send it back, but that’s what I have to do. I hope it’s just this one dysfunctional product, and not every one of them. But I’m not willing to exchange it. I’d rather pay more for another brand.

Amazing!!!
I bought this product for my mom since she was experiencing a lot of pain in her hand. And it works amazingly she only used it once so far and she instantly felt pain relief. Instructions that come with the product to make it very easy to use even for beginners. I highly recommend this product if you’re experiencing any pain, arthritis, Limited range of motion in hands or feet, or genuinely just have dry hands

¡ Encantada !

Comes complete with everything you need.
We bought this for a pain condition in my husbands hands and he has found comfort and some relief after using everyday for a week. Unit is good size for hands but frustrating that it takes so long to get to the actual use. Two hours to heat up and another 1/2 hour to settle back to a comfortable level to submerge your hands before it can be enjoyed. The wax that comes with it is VERY strong smelling and so we ordered and added a block of no sent wax ( ordered separately )as we used the unit. Slowly the smell reduced to an acceptable level. Don't use the rain scent wax that comes with it if you have any sensitivity to smell. Comes with bags for your hands and mitts to keep the warmth contained as well as complete directions.

Worth the wait
This is super easy to use, though be patient...it take about 2-3 hours to melt the wax and another 30-40 minutes to cool to a usable temperature. The wax that came with it is scented, so if you have sensitivities you may want to find this with unscented wax included and the smell lingers for HOURS. The bags and mitts that were included fit well - there were quite a few bags. It works wonders on tired feet and makes them feel incredibly soft. I use thing for hands, feet and elbows...careful removing yourself from it, as the space the wax lands on gets very, very slippery after clean up.
