The Rolls Royce of Pasta Forks
This is seriously the freaking Rolls Royce of pasta forks (man, never thought I'd write that sentence) - there probably doesn't exist a nicer pasta fork on the market right now. I know what you're thinking, why the hell would you even NEED a luxury pasta fork? Well, you probably don't. I'm sure the OXO Steel Spaghetti Server would serve you well enough. That said, this is incredibly well made - feels good in the hand. The "carve" in the handle is just downright gorgeous. And the shine, oh the shine - I have never seen shinier, more polished metal in my life. This thing seems like it'll last forever. Plus, it's one piece, with no weird welds or other materials glued on like the OXO - less things to worry about long term, easier to clean, and you don't need to worry about what weird glue they used to glue the rubber handle on leaching into your food over 10 years or something. It's dishwasher safe, so you can just pop it in there if you're feeling lazy, but the fork tangs are just the right distance apart to make cleaning easy. Really, you can't go wrong with this. There is absolutely no reason why you should ever buy a plastic pasta fork given that all plastics leach chemicals, and unbelievable stuff like this is available. If you cook pasta a lot, it's worth the money. My only critique is that sometimes I wish it was like, an inch longer. But only sometimes. But given that you'll probably only be using this (at worst) to stir long haired pasta in boiling water, I can definitely confirm that this is more than long enough for that without burning yourself.

Nice, solid, durable utensil for your set.
I wrote this review for the 6-piece set of All-Clad utensils but it applies to this individual piece as well: I've been looking for a nice set of quality cooking utensils for years now. All I ever find are the cheap stainless ones that rust after the first wash, or the cheapo plastic ones that look like crap on your counter, or the wooden ones which are okay but not necessarily as easy to clean. These are really nice. They feel durable, 18/10 stainless, didn't rust during a run through the dishwasher, and have a nice weight to them. They also match my All-Clad copper core pots and pans which is an added bonus. For the price, you can't go wrong. They really need to make a larger set though. I understand these are the basic items you'll use but almost all of us need the slotted flipper, pasta spoon, and a few other pieces. Definitely worth the price. Also, I have seen a brushed stainless set on Amazon if that's more your style. Not sure if it was just the container that was brushed stainless or the utensils as well but anyway, if that's what you want, do a quick search on Amazon and you'll find it.

High Quality 18/10 Stainless Steel - Functional Design, Fine Craftsmanship
All-Clad Stainless Pasta Ladle This highly polished, handsome, 18/10 Stainless Steel pasta ladle is of excellent quality - fine craftsmanship, is very durable - built to last lifetimes, food grade, non-leaching, and a safe metal alloy especially, when preparing, and handling cooked or heated food. I really like this since it is a tool that helps you quickly transfer very hot pasta and lots of it from a pan to a serving dish to pasta bowls, and/or storage containers. It's heavy construction is perfect for balancing the weight of pasta, which many can appreciate, and I also like that it can be placed on a hook to keep on display when not in use. Treat yourself or a loved one to higher quality, sustainable, reusable, handsome product, and you won't regret it, other than why didn't you do it sooner! Hope that this helps.

Conserve water with ladeling out your pasta and saving the water
Since going whole-grain, plant-based eating, I now make whole wheat and brown rice spaghetti. These days living in California, where we have been in a drought for 5-6 years, I am constantly trying to conserve water. I cook alot and one of the biggest water drains is cooking pasta. When you cook potatoes, it takes a bit of water, but the potatoes soak up most of the water. Pasta soaks up some of the water, but when we dump the pasta water into a collander that is in the sink, alot of water goes right down the drain. So lately, when the pasta is a Ia dente, I scoop the pasta out into a bowl, and then go to the sink to rinse it. That way I can pour the pasta water on my fruit trees or the other plants I have in my yard. I was using a plastic pasta ladle, but I'm dipping it into a pot of boiling water and I don't know if the plastic one is BPA-free, so I bought a stainless steel pasta ladle.(I love All-Clad) It does the trick without out-gasing.

NO LONGER NEEDED
Well made, but shorter than some and not comfortable to hold. Also found it cheaper at HomeGoods. So returned.

Compliments the rest of my All-Clad collection
Bought this ladle to match my other All-Clad utensils and it serves it's purpose well. This ladle has a nice weight to it and feels very comfortable in your hands. It has a nice high polished chrome finish that shines very well and is nice enough to even serve with. We cook pasta numerous times a week and have been using this for over a year now and it still looks as good as the day we bought it. My only complaint which applies to all All-Clad utensils is its made in China. Wish they would just make all their products in the U.S.

Built like a tank !
If you can get past the fact that All Clad's cooking utensils are made in China, they are really well made, excellent tools. Like they are made to military specs, well designed & probably last several generations. Matches All Clad's cookware too.
