OTC (6969) 24" Ratcheting Chain Wrench

My husband is a diesel mechanic and he claims he loves it and gets so much use out of it for so many things. Myself personally, I think it’s great, but my husband is very satisfied and that’s all that matters. Snap on and Matco are great but sooo expensive. We love Amazon and Matco.

This chain wrench works EXACTLY as it's supposed to, and BETTER. It grips every material I have tried it on, including smooth PVC. The handle is strong and comfortable on the hands, and the ring on the end of the chain makes it easy to set the proper length. At first, I would try to get the chain down to the smallest possible diameter before torquing the load. THAT IS NOT NECESSARY. Just set the chain to and easy length for completing the circle, and IT WILL GRIP FINE. Even though there is no built in ratcheting mechanism, this wrench WILL ratchet, by virtue of the clever design of the chain end of the handle. I am VERY pleased with this wrench, and I'm ordering another one immediately.

I used this to help break loose a crank pulley bolt on a Toyota Supra 1jz engine and it worked perfect. Used a 5 ft breaker pole to break loose the bolt, that's how tight the bolt was. My impact gun and starter trick would not work after dozens of attempts. Using this tool to lock down the pulley so the engine wouldn't move worked just as I thought it would. What a life saving tool.

Looks and feels very cheap not what I was expecting at all. Not my first otc tool in my box.

Awsome Holding wrench. Used good strap wrench for most of my holding jobs. Mostly for holding dynamic damper pulleys. When the strap wrench could not hold, this thing just locks it down. Very well made and easy to adjust. Long handle allows for plenty of leverage

Worth buying, works well, does what it's suppose to, I wish it was made in the US, loses one star for that.
