i would like to know before i buy these if they are the thick dvd cases , like u buy from a store

yes they are. they are 14mm which is the regular width. I've used a lot of them and they are of decent quality. not super strong, but better than the recyclable ones they sell in the stores now. no, they are not the thin ones. regular dvd width.

do these have a FIRM "click" when shut? i am buying them for a film festival library & they will get repeated usage. MUST close solidly.

Plastic - good. Black - not so good.

Does anyone have the inside dimensions? I am producing a booklet from 8.5x11" paper (letter size) and folding in half.

I can tell you that for the cover that slips under the clear in the outside my dimensions are 7.25" x 10.8". I can get an exact inside measure when I get home tomorrow.

How's the disc situated in the case? Can you move/spin the disc around with your finger or is it fixed in-place? Does the data side touch the case?

The disc is held in the case the same way as in any pre-recorded DVD that you purchase. Yes you can spin the disc with your finger, and no the data side of the disc does not come in contact with the case. I have used these cases many times and find them to be of superior quality to the ones that pre-recorded DVDs come in.
