The Diamond Select Toys Godzilla Classic 1989 Vinyl Figure Bank is a stunning 12" tall replica of Godzilla from the iconic 1989 film 'Godzilla vs. Biollante.' This multi-colored figure not only serves as a striking display piece but also features a hidden coin slot in its fins, making it a functional bank for your spare change.

Not An Action Figure & Only Marginal As A Functional Bank - But Still A 5 Star Product!
I've got to start out by saying that I absolutely LOVE this Godzilla figure! The size, the pose, the features - everything about it is just awesome. As I mentioned, this is not an action figure, as there is no articulation whatsoever. It's basically just the Big G posed in a fearsome, threatening stance. According to the product description, this is Godzilla as he appeared in 1989's Godzilla Vs. Biolante. The height measures in at about 11.75 inches, just under the stated 12 inch height.I received my Godzilla figure in two pieces in a clear plastic bag. I found it a relatively simple task to attach the tail to the main body. Bear in mind it only goes on one way. There are two tabs at the base of the tail section that must be inserted into the main body and turned to lock into place. Though it's difficult to see, one of the tabs appears slightly larger than the other, and they must be inserted into the corresponding sized opening on the body. While faint, there appears to be a small silver mark on both the body and the tail section to help line the tabs up correctly. Once alligned and inserted, simply press in firmly and turn to lock into place. I believe it takes a clockwise motion to lock it in, but I recall seeing an arrow on it somewhere showing the correct direction to turn the tail. Some people have suggested the use of a hair dryer to make the plastic a bit more pliable to perform this operation. I did not find that necessary, but have used that same trick in the past on several of the other Godzilla figures in my collection that needed some assembly.Even though I had no trouble attaching the tail, I really don't think that this particular design concept lends itself well to being a functional bank. Personally, I would be afraid that after a number of tail detachments/re-attachments, the locking tabs could possibly break or become damaged. If that should happen, the only way to re-attach the tail would be with glue, and then it really will be permanent. Since I never have any intention of using this figure as a bank, the tail on my figure will remain attached, so this is not an issue for me.As I mentioned, I love the overall appearance of this figure, but I must admit that the detail is not as intricate as some of my other figures. Also the paint job has a few inconsistencies here and there. But I somehow have no trouble overlooking these minor drawbacks because, well - he just looks so darn cool and awesome sitting on top of my bookcase with all my other G figures. Having displayed him for only 24 hours, I can already say that he is easily my second favorite Godzilla figure, behind only my much more expensive 2001 Banpresto Millenium Godzilla figure. As far as I'm concerned, for the price of this figure, you can't go wrong. Again, I don't know that I would recommend it as a bank. But as an inexpensive, non-articulated display figure, it's really hard to beat. Another outstanding Diamond Select product. Highly recommended!

Best Godzilla figure to me size wise
If you are a Godzilla fan it's a must have. Great size. Detailed. Others say tale is hard to put on.... not for me. Goes on a certain way easill y and snug. Only wish they would have put a sound activator when you put coins in to here his authentic roar.

Great for a Starter figure
It used to be in the 1970's or even 80's that if you had a Godzilla figure it was a big deal. Remember there was no internet back then so if you were able to get something out of Japan it was a big deal. You had the Aurora Godzilla and Shogun Warriors figures also but they weren't as cool or detailed as this. I got it last month for my nephew and he is hooked on Godzilla now. This is a Hensei suit model from the 90's I think. It's a a bank also to encourage kids to save money. I wanted the 54 suit but I figured out that this would be fine at his age. There is a slot for coins which I didn't know when I ordered it. It's a nice figure for the money and I hope that he gets a lot of enjoyment out of it.

Great solid sturdy and well-built toy
This is a very nice action figure it is very nice and solid and sits very well you can bump it and push it and it will not fall over on you're like many other action figures I have purchased in the past. I really enjoyed this one a lot I let my children play with it and this toy can take a beating and not have any issues.

RUN! GODZILLA IS COMING!!!!
I love this thing. I bought it to terrorize my N-gauge model railroad layout. It's pretty big for N gauge, but anything smaller wouldn't look correct stepping on buildings and picking up railcars. I attached a photo if you're curious. The item itself is very well made. It's pretty heavy duty and would easily survive a fall even if full of coins. I'm not a Godzilla collector, but as far as I'm concerned, the detailing is great. I had no real issue with the tail. Although it took a small amount of effort to get it on properly. I don't know what the connector for tail is called, but it's very common. The tail has two tabs that slip into two corresponding cutouts in the body section, insert the tabs, then give it a twist. If you really can't get the tail to rotate into position, I would think a very tiny amount (I mean tiny) of cooking oil on the tabs ought to get it to rotate. I wouldn't use any oil from the garage, it could eat into the plastic.

Do not buy this product
We opened the box and it comes in two pieces. The tail does not fit the body any way you try it. It has extra plastic that wasn't cut properly that will not allow it to fit. Don't waste your money and time.

Impressive!
This was on Target’s online store a while ago for $19.99.It disappeared and has, now, resurfaced, at twice the price.I don’t know if any actually sold through Target but, their base price was a steal given what this very well done figure presents. At $40.00, it’s still a decent price compared to the ridiculous pricing on the average 6” Godzilla figures from other manufacturers.Unfortunately, I, too, experienced poor fit and breakage while attaching the tail. The male pins do not fit correctly in the female slots (make your grade school jokes) and the male pins snap off very easily. Thus, you no longer have a coin bank but something that needs to be superglued together then be given a serious repaint because this figure screams “repaint!”.That’s fine.I had purchased this with the intent of modifying it as a display piece in a destroyed city diorama. So, I’ll putty up the coin slot, glue the tail and start priming. If you intend to purchase this as an actual coin bank for a Godzilla fan, pass. It’s going to break and disappoint. As a stand alone figure with a nice dynamic pose, tail glued…..it can’t be beat for the price.

Godzilla alcancia

Great Toy!
If you are a Godzilla fan and on the fence about this item, don't be, just get it! Although it is a bank and not as detailed as the figures priced much higher, on display it looks great. He's a nice sculpt and size, but be warned, the tail is long and will take up some shelf real estate ;-) You will need to pop on the tail as item comes in two pieces, but I had no problem with this and there is also an instructional video posted by Diamond Select Toys online, if required. As for Amazon, another perfect purchasing experience! Item was at my door in 3 days, can't beat that, especially since the shipping was free!

Deshalb 5 Sterne!!

If time travel existed, I'd bring this sucker to show and tell just to make everyone in my third grade class super jelly.
What a beast. Simply gorgeous. I thought I'd like this when I ordered it but after getting this up on my shelf -- I LOVE THIS -- 6 out of 5 stars! Since this Godzilla vinyl bank isn't articulated, I love that the tail is sculpted bending to the side, cause otherwise it'd be too deep for most shelves, since from head to the tail this badboy is like twenty-inches long. Anyone worried about being able to attach the tail should watch the very helpful how-to on youtube from Diamond Select. I was so in love with this thing right out of the bag, that I was hesitant to force the tail into the base, out of fear that I'd strip a tab (or worse). After watching the video once I got the tail on no problem. At first it really does seem like the tail won't fit but it will. I think it just needed to be a really tight fit to support the length. I don't plan on putting change into this, so I'm personally not going to have to constantly remove/reattach the tail but I think for anyone who does plan on using this bank as a bank, I'm fairly confident it'll hold up to repeated use. Can't wait to get the upcoming, full body Mecha-Godzilla to display beside it.
