I cannot stress enough how good this lens hood is
Without exception, this is an outstanding and well constructed hood kit. I say "kit" because it has 3 parts - some of which are metal. I was looking for a long time for a unique hood that enabled many of the wider angled lenses out there. With the new Fujifilm 15-45 kit zoom lens (where the wide end has a 22.5 MM focal reach equivalent), no other hood would work. But when I finally stumbled on to this one, my irritations vanished. Not only is it superbly constructed (and inexpensive), there is no vignetting at all - but more so, it does a superb job of shielding your lens from lens flare, even when the sun is in front and above the scene you're shooting. I cannot stress enough how good this lens hood is. Ignore the part about it being for Nikon cameras. This particular 52 MM screw in model fits just about any camera with that particular screw-in size. Highly recommended!

Works but...
Works but is a kind of leave it on and forget taking it off kind of thing. It screws in to lens threads and has a lock ring that tightens down on the threads to keep it from turning. This work pretty effectively but is not easy to remove or replace so I just leave it on. That makes the cam a bit more difficult to pack small but hey it also protects things.

Not worth it
i have to adjust it all the time so that the hood doesn't block the camera, unusable. haven't used it ever since.

Yeah... No
Not what I expected. I bought it for my Fuji XC15-45 because I read that it fits. And it does quite well with no vignetting! However, what I did not expect is that, in order to mount and unmount the hood on the lens (once you have placed the screw-in support), you need to apply brute-force pressure (there is no bayonet system or anything like that). And I mean a lot of pressure. I fear that with time I would end up damaging the lens (which is made of plastic, not super robust) with all that pushing and pulling, so for me this hood is basically unusable, unless you screw the whole system in and out every time or just leave it on permanently (which defeats the purpose of a reversible hood). Also, it bothers me that there is no defined "upright" position, you need to rotationally tweak the position until it looks ok. I wish it had come with a simple bayonet twist instead (that is what I expected), it could have been a decent hood.

It's Ok
not the best lens hood I have. I find I rarely keep a lens cap that close and having one "hanging around" is distracting. The Hodd also turns with the lens and thus out of postion on some shots.

Great lens hood for the right lens.
This lens hood is just what I was looking for. Most of all it has the front threads so I can attach my filters. This is where other similar lens hoods have failed. I have heard a lot of people mention problems with shadows and vignetting with this hood. Honestly I wouldn't use it on anything wider than a 50mm lens. I use it on my 50mm prime lens and it works great. For those 18-55 / 200 lenses this hood might not work that well, especially at the wider focal lengths. For the price this product is a good deal.

A Must Accessory!
Fits my Nikon D3100 DSLR perfectly. Locking ring means it will not come loose and fall off. Is not visible when looking through the viewfinder. Does not add much to the length of the lens if you leave it attached. The included lens cap works well and has a cord which is long enough to attach it to the lens without hanging too loose to be an obstruction. Great value for the price.
