excellent work pants
if you are looking for durable TRUE rip stop work pants, this is what you buy! I searched everywhere for a work trousers that have REAL rip stop material, double layer knee material and a loose but not too loose fit. I would call this a relaxed fit. It is important because there is so much work I do that requires all kinds of bending, kneeling, stretching, and I work in a very hot outside all weather condition. These are not light material, but there are not heavy duty material either. It's somewhere in between. I have bought all kinds of pants that are nylon rip stop and most of them are just not very durable, and while they do dry quickly and allow sweat to evaporate, the material just doesn't last long, especially the knees and the crotch and seat. I bought these on a hunch and it's exactly what I was looking for. It isn't as light weight material as I imagined, but it's definitely constructed for a longer lasting life. A great price too. I found the size is slightly smaller in the waist and the length slightly longer. Not much though...around 1 inch. But that is not a big deal because I wear boots so the length is fine and there is a stretch band built into the belt waist band that is actually a strong stretch that makes up for the small size difference. I have not washed these pants yet, but I plan to put them on a high heat dry and see if that changes the size, which is likely. Good deal on price and material and construction quality. Will definitely buy more in different natural colors. Bought the lighter khaki because it seems to wear cooler in temp in the hot summer season of mowing and groundskeeping. The extra double layer at the knee will probably keep these pants from wearing out at least through 1 or two seasons. I do a LOT of kneeling in all kinds of ground, concrete, wood, you name it. That usually creates wear spots and holes in normal pants pretty quickly and just another place for the mosquitoes to get a meal. These pants are also nice enough to wear casually for store runs without looking like a total work chump. Never bought this brand before. Glad I did.

True Spec 24/7 tactical. My favorite pants by far
The poly/cotton blend fabric is just right. Light weight and comfortable, but still very durable. Not as hot as jeans. Some will think they are a tad stiff at first, but they break in perfectly after one wash. And still retain their creases over time to look sharp. Ive owned my first pair for five years and have them on right now LOL. Much more comfortable than jeans in my opinion, and they look and wear better than jeans. Hold creases well over time. Now that I’ve retired, I bought more and wear these daily no matter what I’m doing. Comfortable enough to lay around the house in, and durable enough to do just about any outside work or activity you want. I wear them hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, yard work, chopping wood, pulling weeds, etc. They don’t snag on things like jeans will. They also look nice enough to wear as casual wear, like going out to dinner, if you don’t mind the cargo pockets. The pockets are big, but lay flat when empty. I wear them everywhere. Plenty of pockets that are well designed. Front pockets are deep and usable. Back pockets are also deep with a Velcro closure. Side cargo pockets are large enough for small handgun or extra mags, but lay flat when empty. Slim pockets designed for folding pocketknives on each side that I use daily. I’ve never had a knife fall out when using the knife clip. Perfectly holds a folding knife with 3.5” folding blade. There are two very small pockets with Velcro closures outside the larger cargo pockets. But they only hold small items like credit cards or drivers license or keys. I own five pair of these pants. One of the pair I just bought came with slip-in cell phone pockets, but the other four pair did not. I wish they all had those pockets. Perfect size for iPhone 12 with otter box case. Sizing: I’m 5’9”. 185lbs. My extra weight above the waist. I wear 36/30 dress slacks, but I like them a little loose, not binding. True spec runs a tad large. My true specs are 34/30. Waist and hips and crotch area are perfect fit. The extra 2” hidden elastic extender inside the waistband is perfect to give a little when needed. And very very comfortable. Never binding. Just right. The 30” inseam is about an inch longer than my dress slacks, but I like that for boots and for outdoor activities so debris won’t get in my shoes. Bottom line I highly recommend these pants. Very versatile, durable, and comfortable. If you’re patient you can find them for under $40 on Amazon. I’m cheap, and won’t pay over that. Hope this helps.

Pretty much the perfect pair of pants.
comfortable, long lasting, light weight, durable, looks nice, and you can move in them. It is both warm in the winter and cold in the summer. Zipper is metal and durable and doesn't get locked up. Very stretchy so they are functional and tactical.

Great pants for EDC
I like this Tru-Spec model for its deep front pockets, small knife/flashlight pockets, and deep drop-in cell phone pockets. The cargo pockets have smaller pockets inside which helps keep items from flopping around. Unfortunately, I had to return these. I have another pair in black, which are great, but this one I received in khaki had some stitching goofups which made the cell phone drop in pocket too shallow and the cargo dividers misplaced, too small and shallow. I’m hoping when I reorder this color I get a pair identical to the black ones in construction. I don’t know if Tru-Spec is using multiple places to have these made and they’re very inconsistent, or if they’ve changed places and/or specifications. I only bought the black ones a couple of months ago so my guess is that I just got a defective Khaki pair. I wish they’d make a pair just like these but with stretch cotton, no back pocket flaps, and a more fitted (less baggy) cut. Update: I received the new Khaki pair I ordered to replace the first pair and these are still not up to the usual specifications. On this pair the cell phone pockets are still shallower than the good (black) pair but at least they’re usable. An iPhone X fits in flush and doesn’t stick out, but doesn’t have the extra inch of pocket space at the top like it should. Also, the cargo pocket dividers are only half as deep as they are in the good pair and thus not as useful. The placement and stitching of the now half depth divider pockets are what is causing the phone drop in pocket to be inconsistent (pair to pair and left side to right side) and too shallow. I’m guessing Tru-Spec is using different assembly locations for the khaki vs black versions, and the khaki location is screwing up the cargo pocket divider process. I’ll probably keep this pair anyway but look for a different brand going forward. 2nd update: Ended up returning the pants again as the half depth cargo pocket dividers just didn’t work for magazines, they don’t stay put. Ordered another pair that just arrived today and they have the same defect. I don’t know what’s going on with the company but I’ve returned way more of these than I’ve kept. I’ll have to return this pair also. This is getting ridiculous. Great design but really sloppy execution lately.

Nice, but not for me. Still on the search for work pants.
This is a tough review to write. Basically, I bought these to where as work pants, and I know these are tactical pants. So I don't want to dock stars for not living up to what I want them to be, when that was never the purpose by tru-spec. Here's why I docked it two stars: 1. The seem that [I assume] should be above the knee, is actually right at my knee. So when kneeling/crouching/climbing, the seem rubs my knee. It both is annoying, and it also helps pull my pants down! I'm 6' 225, and got 38-32 pants. I probably should have gone with 36-30 or something. There's a lot of length, and maybe that's why the seem is so low. But 32" in length is very normal for my height. And I like length so dirt can't get in my boots especially when crouching, all that extra length disappears. 2. The stretch in the waste is awesome, and I wish construction pants would do this. However, Even on the first day, my pants were sagging by the end of the day. The stretch really needs to be tightened up. I'm figuring after a few months, a belt will be necessary (especially with stuff in your pockets -for me a tape measure and pocket level- for you maybe a flashlight and a few clips?) Again, maybe I just ordered too large. 3. They turn dark brown when I sweat (I Have the khaki color). At first, I thought I was just getting them really dirty. But I caught onto it after a few days, then confirmed it when I was working in white sand. Nothing around to make them dark, actually the 'dirt' would have made them whiter. but they got very dark in the upper tight to the knee, and then during lunch returned to the normal color, then about thirty mins back outside, they were dark again. it makes me look like a slob who doesn't wash his pants. I don't, but I don't want to look like I don't. :) 4. Actually, I do wash my pants, and I have to because they stink! My old black jeans never stunk this bad. So you can either say that somehow I sweat less in black jeans and these suck at breathability, or, these suck at stink! I'm not really sure what the deal is. Those jeans are the only thing I have to compare them too, so I don't have many positives to say. Obviously these khaki polyester blended pants are lighter, and you don't feel the sun compared to heavyweight black jeans. I figure I'll leave the compliments to other reviewers. needless to say, I do think that polyester ripstop is the way to go for comfort and durability. I was cutting through some really bad thorns yesterday and they were trying to snag my pants, but I don’t think a single thorn actually pricked the fabric. I was impressed, as I know jeans get stabbed right through, the pain isn’t a problem as much as worrying they will tear apart. I’m pretty sure I don’t have to worry for the most part. Some other complaints that are construction specific that I didn't dock stars for: 1. The pocket knife holder is weak at the top. I wanted to put my tape measure on there but it wouldn’t work. it would sag and bunch up before the metal slip could get on it. It was also barely wide enough, so that made it worse. I would think some knives would be too wide. I see that the ascent pants appear to have a wider pocket for knives, and better stitching. But for high end pants, why not consider a little leather like Wrangler did for knives (riggs ripstop carpenter jean)? I use the pocket for a sharpee (a must have for my job) and it works fine. But I’d really like a place for a tape measure -- a belt just for a tape measure is awful. It’s just more to wear, get hot, rub you, and kills the point of having a nice elastic waistband. 2. The cargo pockets are just crazy. Too low for starters. but too wide. Anything that goes in there gets lost. I really only need it for my pocket level, but that goes sideways and goes too low, restricts movements, and rubs the side of my knee. Again, I know it was made for ammo, so I’m not docking stars. Just letting other construction workers know who might be wondering. This is probably not going to work unless you want to ditch a carpenter belt for cargo pockets. Or if you want to keep your whole screw-tray on the side of your leg. 3. The flaps are annoying. They should be tuckable for easy access. I tried to tuck them, but that caused the whole pocket to sag open and collect dirt. Bottom line: I think if one of these tactical brands would make a construction pant (see the riggs carpenter jean mentioned earlier) They could bring the price down (smaller pockets, less velcro and flaps!) and offer a much more comfortable work pant with cooler materials and the stretch in the waistband. This would be great.

excelente pantalon
