Geoffrey Beene Men's Regular Fit Sateen Solid Dress Shirt

Though I really like the look and feel of Geoffrey Beene, with fabrics I find lighter, smoother and more comfortable as a rule, my 15 1/2, 34-35 Classic Fit Dress Shirt actually measured 16 1/4, 36 out of the package -- which is overly generous allowance for shrinkage, even for Geoffrey Beene. Note that the sleeve plackets do have buttons, the cuffs are unmitered, and removable collar stays and two spare buttons are provided. Also, the crisp laundry tag protrudes from the lower side seam, rather than being placed flat on the placket, where it promises to annoy at the hip unless removed. Furthermore, be aware "Wrinkle Free" does not mean "Non-Iron", as steam ironing is recommended on said tag. I anticipate several hot wash/dry cycles, before turning up the sleeves and demoting this shirt to casual dress wear, then ordering down one size (1/2 inch in neck and 2 inches in sleeve) for the same brand well-fitting suit. Bottom line: very comfortable and cost-effective for dress wear, but size-down to suit-up and buy when it's 50-60% off.

I have had many dress shirts over the years (in my 50's). It apperars as I get older, along with a less than athletic build, dress shirts are harder to find that fit an increasing neck size without being "sack-like" at the waist. I now have 6 of these shirts, and they fit as though they were custom made. The sateen finish looks great and does not wrinkle. They hold up well through the laundering process, and ironing is a breeze. Thank you for, finally, a dress shirt that I actually enjoy wearing.

This is a wrinkle free shirt, but please note that the texture is not like most of the wrinkle free shirts. This one is very soft. It looks also great. Everything is the same as described.Updates: I can't call this a real wrinkle free shirt. After the first wash, it became uglier as there are my wrinkles that can't be gotten rid of without ironing. And it seems the shirt can carry a lot of static which after the wash, a lot of small particles attached to the surface and the shirt doesn't look as nice as before the wash. Two stars are deducted.

These shirts claim they are wrinkle-free, however, it is extremely hard to keep the wrinkles out. My husband has been using these shirts for over 30 years and these new ones are nothing like the old ones. They are see-through, thin, and nowhere near wrinkle free. They need to be starched and ironed and even then when I hug him creases are immediately made. I know that they can wrinkle however it makes creases. Do not order these unless you want see-thru shirts and carry starch and iron with you. Steam machines will steam but within a few minutes, heavy wrinkles and creases can be made.

I love these shirts for work. My job requires that I wear a dress shirt and tie, and a while back I discovered these shirts. They fit well, they are comfortable, and I like they way they fit and feel. I'm 6'1" and about 180 lbs. A 15 1/2 neck and 34/35 sleeve fits just right. That's one of the things I like about them.I like these shirts so much that I have them in an assortment of colors.So why only 4 stars? The down side is that in my experience the ends of the sleeves wear a little too quickly and so do the collars. Aside from that they are great.Good go-to work shirts. I will continue to buy and wear them until I find others that I like even better.

There is no finer quality shirt than this right here. It is a staple of my wardrobe for my programmer/analyst office job. I just ordered another as well as 4 other colors from the same make (Geoffrey Beene Sateen 15.5 32/33). The price can not be beat at $20.99 per dress shirt. On a very important note, I have NOT had any wrinkles in this dress shirt since the day I purchased it, a year ago. Also, these fit true to my size (I am approx. 5' 9", 145 lbs), and are not baggy at all. It is suitable to wear straight out of the dryer, which is something I look for in a dress shirt. The less work I have to put into keeping it looking the way it should, the more value I see coming from it (saving me time). I would not buy any other brand after having found these. Every other brand has let me down every single time. I recommend getting as many as you can of these, and also some H2H variety zip up ties that can be found here on Amazon as well for $8.99 each. I mix and match those ties with these dress shirts and get many complements throughout my work day. Thank you for an excellent product.

I'm purchasing another one of these shirts because my husband loves them. When he said he needed a new white dress shirt I looked around on Amazon and came across this. It looked nice so I bought it. Well, after wearing it he just raved about it - it was the most comfortable, high quality white shirt he'd ever owned, it fit perfectly, the fabric is great... It really does look nice on him and is tons better than those white dress shirts you can practically see through. It came through the wash beautifully too. I can't say enough about it. So he asked me to get him a second one and I'm on here now to do that.

Over the years I have purchased dozens of dress shirts, and I look for wrinkle-free shirts so I can launder them at home and not have to iron them. The only brand I have found so far that makes dress shirts with few or no wrinkles straight out of the dryer is Geoffrey Beene, and the model with the smoothest finish is the Sateen shirt.I bought this one to replace another Sateen shirt I bought over 5 years ago, and I wanted to make sure the latest production shirts are true to the originals. This one passed the first two washings with flying colors, so I will buy more to replace my easily-wrinkled "wrinkle-free" shirts as they wear out. The Sateen is much softer than my heavier-weight dress shirts that require starching. While it doesn't feel as formal as they do, at the end of the day it doesn't have creases as do the others.

Great shirts - proper regular fit - not this skinny fit where you have to go up 2 or 3 sizes.

Great shirts. Great material and hold shape and colour. Dry clean well and last a long time. Crisp look on cuffs and collar after many wears. Regular fit perfect for me at 190 lbs.
