Great pricing and comfort.
I know you're technically not supposed to use wrist rests, they are considered a "crutch" and really should be typing with your arms off the desk. But like many people here, I work with less than idea desks, keyboards and not a fan of keyboard trays. For many years, I type with my keyboard on the desk rather than on a lower keyboard tray. I just personally like the up front feeling instead of having my keyboard hidden below the desk. In this typing method, I find that there's more angle between my wrists and the keyboard, especially thicker keyboards. My first experience in a decent keyboard wrist rest was a attached rest in the Dell keyboards, these were the curve style keyboards they packed in a few years ago. The wrist rest was very well built and just slightly raised the base of my hands enough to keep my arms level with the keyboard. Later I bought a Logitech G15 keyboard and again, had a similar wrist rest, keep in mind both of these are made out of hard plastic, but still comfortable. A few years later, I started to explore mechanical keyboards, buying a Unicomp keyboard that is a remake of the classic IBM Model M. The keyboard was noticeably taller, and could feel more tension in my wrists from typing but switching to and from the G15 made it a lesser issue. Finally after moving away from the Logitech G15 to save desk space, I bought another mechanical keyboard as my main keyboard, I was looking some a nice wrist rest. Searching around there were some nice examples, found a few leather wrist rests but the prices were over $70. I just happened to search here on Amazon and found that the 3M wrist rest, looked like the perfect size but wasn't sure about the leatherette material. I decided to buy the wrist rest and test this out with my current setup. From receiving the wrist rest, the first thing I noticed was the weight, it's more than I expected, which is a good thing, keeps it from moving. Another plus is once you remove the protective shipping plastic film on the bottom, the base is very tacky and grips my desk with no movement. In fact, to adjust the wrist rest, I need to physically pick it up, I can't just slide it back and forth. The material on the top is actually decently nice, now it's not leather, there's no way it would fool someone, but it's comfortable, easy to wipe off. Also the material doesn't show finger prints or grease as bad as some other materials. Considering some of the leather items I have, this is a plus as your oils and sweat would be difficult to clean off a real leather wrist rest. The wrist rest is decently firm but you can feel the gel inside with a little push, I would say this is similar to arm chair rest. I personally find it's enough to be comfortable but not so soft that you sink into it, or it's constantly moving. If you have ever used those bean filled rests, you may find them too loose, and this might be a better more stable rest. From the photos above, you can see that with either a full sized keyboard, or a smaller ten keyless (full sized keyboard with out the number pad on the right), fits well. With the narrower ten keyless keyboard, there's not enough room to use the wrist rest on the keyboard and the for the mouse, but if you were using a "laptop" sized keyboard it might work. I could see this especially with a Netbook, or smaller format laptops. Overall, I think this is one of the great bargains for making your computer an easier experience. From switching to this wrist rest, I find that typing is much easier and just from gaming, I don't have any issues where my wrist is sore from staying in the same position over longer periods. As a side note, since I was so happy with this wrist rest I bought the longer version, intending to use this as one piece with the mouse. Personally I like this shorter version as it's the same shape across the entire length, and it's nice to have a second mouse wrist rest that you can adjust differently from the keyboard wrist rest.

Perfect complement to a certain keyboards
I've purchased this item to make the usage of my mechanical straight edge keyboard (Deck Legend) more comfortable, and this product doesn't disappoint. That keyboard has a pretty raised lower edge (as well as keys themselves) and doesn't come with wrist rest (not even as a separate option), so for me switching from a more "standard" type of keyboards (with lower bottom edge and with wrist rests included) was somewhat uncomfortable. This wrist rest almost completely compensates for this slight drawback - it has an almost perfect overall length (maybe half an inch longer than keyboard itself) and a very good height (the height doesn't really match the height of the keyboard's lower edge, but it's good enough as it is), plus the "gel"-like material seems to be comfortable enough (not too soft, not too hard) to rest my wrist (especially the left one, which is constantly "busy" with WASD portion of keyboard and other keys nearby) for a very long periods of time. Not sure about overall material durability but the top "leatherette" portion feels durable enough and doesn't "show" the dirt accumulation (from my somewhat sweaty hands) nearly as much as the similarly-colored plastic wrist rests on other keyboards (especially the "soft" plastic coating that Logitech uses on some of their keyboard's wrist rests) and is pretty easy to clean. Also, the whole wrist rest seems to be nicely weighted and has a very "grabby" bottom portion that prevents it from sliding/moving all over my laminate surface-covered desk. All in all, I am pretty happy with the purchase and highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking to purchase a full-size mechanical keyboard with straight bottom edge which has no optional wrist rest available from manufacturer.

3m wrist pad
This product was really a great buy for me. I saw the product in the amazon wear house for 12.99 and decided to try it out. It was really nice looking from the start. I like how heavy it was, and new it wouldn't move. Once on the desk it stayed put. I noticed that it was a tad hard on top though. I am not sure hard is the way to describe the surface, its actually soft, but compared to the soft one I had before it was hard. It does give some on top, and is comfortable to me now. I think some people may find this product a little too hard for their taste though. The product overall is of excellent quality. I think you get what you pay for in this case. Most users should own this wrist pad for quite some time. The surface does not show wear even after weeks of usage. Cleans easy. I would say for the price especially, that this wrist pad is the perfect wrist pad. It provides good support. The height is good also, it met both of my keyboards at a good height equal or just below the keyboard base.

Great Gel Wrist
I've had this for a few weeks now and it does exactly what it is supposed to--be solid (comfy) place to rest your wrists. I do think that it is a "little low" but I guess you have to take into account differences for keyboards. One thing to note: the 19inch, which is what I got is a rectangle shape, the 18inch one is more of a "crescent" shape. I couldn't find this information before, and I wanted the rectangle shape, so I took a chance going with the 19inch. Turns out, it was rectangle, so I was happy. Hopefully this will help anyone else trying to figure out which one is rectangle and "crescent" shaped. This product is also a bit more of a "solid gel." The pad is a bit more firm, so if you like that (and I have actually enjoyed it), then you will like this product. So far it has held up pretty well (no spilling out or leakage). If it doesn't hold up well, you will hear from me with an update blasting this product. Until then, my wrists are pretty happy.

Great Product, over two years of use
I purchased this gel-rest around two years ago. It is just about near perfect. Pros: - Gel doesn't have a lot of give, unlike cheaper ones, very sturdy. At first, I thought the gel should be softer, but after long periods of use, I am glad it is firm. - Good size, length, depth, and height, for three different keyboards I have used, all 104-key layout. - does not move and stays in place on my wooden desk. (The bottom of the gel-rest is designed so it sticks to say, a glass surface) - extremely easy to clean with rubbing alcohol, which has not degraded it at all. Cons: - has slightly warped on the bottom, so it does not sit flush on desk (this has not at all affected performance, just visibility but really not noticeable)

Comfortable--But Gets Warm and Sweaty
First things first, the wrist rest is soft, supportive, comfortable, and stays in place on your desk. The faux leather looks nice, is relatively durable, and is easy to clean. Those are the positives. However, one thing well worth pointing out is that the material is not breathable, and it may cause your hands/wrists to get hot and sweat. I don't even have sweaty hands--no problems with shaking hands, and I barely use chalk when I rock-climb. But sitting in a room at about 75 degrees, I find my palms getting moist and sticky against this wrist rest. Sounds uncomfortable? Believe me, it is. I had originally been using the plastic wrist rest built into the Logitech G710+ keyboard. It wasn't particularly comfortable, and at first, I found this 3M product to be a huge upgrade in terms of comfort and support. But after about 20 minutes of use, I saw the benefits of plastic over gel--I never sweat on the plastic. And if you're at a computer for hours at a time, that's important. So if you were wondering why this product had to be antimicrobial, now you know.

A decent hack for replacing the AKT200SL keyboard tray's old wrist rest
I have an older sliding keyboard tray from 3M, model AKT200SL. It had a built-in wrist rest that was gel with a soft cover. Over time, the cover wore out and the gel was exposed and my hands would get slightly sticky where they contacted the gel bits. I could not get a real replacement for the wrist rest, so I took a chance and bought this. I had to take out the little plastic tray the old wrist rest was attached to (which was easy, it simply sits in a depression in the keyboard tray). This new wrist rest is too small to simply pop into the keyboard tray where the old one was. Instead, I needed to put this new one into the plastic tray where the old gel was. To remove the old cover and gel from the plastic holder, I used a putty knife to pry up the cover and pull it off and scrape the gel out. That worked fairly well, and some mineral spirits on a rag worked very well to remove the gel residue. This new wrist rest fits OK in the plastic tray--it sticks up a bit, not seating all the way down into the tray but when it is wedged in, it seems to stay just fine. The whole thing pops back into my keyboard tray perfectly. The new wrist rest is at a good height over my keyboard even though it sits up a bit higher, and I've had no problems with it falling out or shifting around. It is very comfortable and the leather-like covering is good and seems like it might hold up better than my old one. My only other choice would have been to replace the whole keyboard tray, so I am very happy that this wrist rest is working as a replacement.

One of the best wrist wrests you can buy - perfect for my IBM Model M "clicky" keyboard
I needed a good wrist wrest for my workstation at my job, as my wrists were starting to ache at the end of my shift - as a network engineer, I need to do quite a bit of typing in my job, so I need to take care of my wrists. I also love my IBM model M (aka, "clicky") keyboard, but it is huge and finding a good wrist rest is hard enough, let alone one that fits that behemoth of a keyboard. One of my coworkers recommended the 3M gel wrist wrest series, and while I had to buy one of the larger models available to fit the IBM Model M keyboard, it was well worth the money. It's not your typical "el cheapo" gel or memory foam. This material is definitely hefty and durable, with quite a bit of firmness to it -- that's a good thing, as you want support, yet not something so comfy you'll be tempting to lean onto it full time with your wrists.

Enjoying the difference this makes
A bit over a year full time working from home, and starting to feel the strains of a close but not quite ergonomic setup. Will admit, purchased this because it looked the niceset and matched the leather top on our built-in desks. Happy thus far. Is a comfortable height. Has a good level of give/resistance. Never had one before so can't comment on comparison to models of old. Purchased this along with the matching mouse pad with wrist support. Definitely on the pricier side compared to some other offerings but feels like it will stand up to wear as most 3M products do.

Great Find
This was the perfect size for my keyboard tray at the office. It’s super comfortable, soft, and water resistant. It’s fairly heavy, with a rubbery underside; so it stays in place very well. I like that it is long enough to cover both the keyboard and the mouse. Efficient, tight set up with a nice aesthetic.
