Question 1

is the dog and cat supplement the same?

Accepted Answer

This question is old, but I was wondering the same thing so will leave my answer here. All Grizzly Salmon Oil products are exactly the same per the company. They market the smaller 4 oz. bottle for cats because 1) the pump is smaller so you can measure (according to the instructions on the side of their bottle) 1 pump, 2 pumps, etc. depending on cat weight and 2) one cat will not consume a larger bottle in the amount of time for their recommended shelf life (4-5 months). If you have multiple cats and will use more salmon oil or are splitting between pets, the product is exactly the same between dog and cat bottles, it's just a marketing technique. The larger bottles are cheaper per oz. so if you will use the larger amounts or have the ability to measure without the pump for a cat they are a better deal. I am almost positive that regardless of dog or cat the product is just measured by weight of animal (so a 10 pound cat would consume the same amount as a 10 pound dog) but I didn't ask customer service about this, so I would double check with them if you are concerned.

Question 2

does it have an odor??

Accepted Answer

I used this for my dog and did not notice any odor. worked excellent.

Question 3

Should this be refrigerated after opening?

Accepted Answer

There is no indication that it should be and we have never refrigerated it. Have been using it for many years at the recommendation of our vet for our three dogs. Bought some made for cats, but the cat didn't like it.

Question 4

Does this need to be refrigerated after opening?

Accepted Answer

Yes it should be. Fish oils produce free radicals with every air exposure, which are really bad. I wish they would put on the bottle to refrigerate so everyone knows they should. I even put mine in small mason jars and then in the fridge.
