I have one vehicle with lots of cupholders, and another that just never quite has enough. So I ordered this to give the second car a boost in its drink-holding ability. The upper hooks, which you loop around the front seat headrests, are actually quite sturdy. I have tried it with a full water bottle, which is relatively heavy, and it didn't flinch. The lower hooks, which are for setting shopping bags or purses, also seem sturdy, though I haven't tried them with anything hugely heavy, like a shopping bag with milk jugs, or my daughter's purse. For typical things, though, they work nicely. The cup holders are nice looking and padded. They hold your drink securely, and in general stay out of the way in the back seat. One other note. When I look at car hooks like this, I always look at it from a safety standpoint. In an accident, someone in the backseat is quite possibly going to come into contact with the back of the seat in front of them, even with a seat belt. That is why I will never put a metal hook or large hook over my back seat. I'm absolutely not a safety engineer, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but it's something I am always wary of when ordering something like this. I like the fact that these hooks have a flat profile and are plastic, and the cup holder is fabric, for that reason. Again, I'm no safety engineer, so take that for what you will. The basic design of this cup holder is: top hook, cup holder, and then bottom hook. TOP HOOK: The hook on top connects to the backrest is flat and integrated within the fabric of the pleather. The issue with the top hook is it is thin and the hook insert stops halfway down the strap. This causes the cup holder to tip forward when a drink is inside. If there was a metal rod connecting the hook all the way into the cup holder it would stabilize the position and keep everything straight (pic3). As you can see in pic3, using a coat hanger to simulate the headrest pole, the weight from my drink makes the cup holder tilt forward. This happens because the material between the hook and a cup holder is just thin flexible pleather (pic4). The top hook is weak and only suitable for holding the weight of a drink. But there is more weight for this thin hook to support. By adding a bottom, metal hook designed to hold groceries, hand bags etc, you're putting even more strain on the top hook. The top hook should be EXTRA reinforced to handle the potential weight from any bags hung on the bottom hook. BOTTOM HOOK: The bottom hook is impressive. ALL metal construction and RIVETED into the pleather material behind it. I wish that the top hook was as strong. SIZE: End to end, this cup holder is exactly 13" inches long (pic5). There is no way to adjust the length of this cup holder. Every strap is fixed and there are no points of adjustment. The backside has a single strap running down the center. There is no way to connect any cross straps through this strip because it is fully stitched on both sides (pic6). FITMENT: I tested various sized containers to see what the largest drink it could fit. It took my 0.5L water bottle like a champ. It held my 20 oz soda bottle pretty snugly. With some effort I was able to muscle in my 28 oz sports drink. This is the largest diameter that it can accommodate (pics7+8). The container type this cannot accommodate are mugs because there is no cut out to accommodate the handles of mugs. FINAL THOUGHTS: This 2 pack for $20 comes to about $10 per cup holder making this a good value. I do wish the top hook was a little bit more robust. But, so far it seems to be holding up okay. To be fair, I have not put any heavy weighted bags on the bottom hook yet. The color is black which is only a close match to my charcoal colored seats. Yes, This could use a little bit more refinement, specifically beefing up the top hook and connecting it with a solid rod into the cup holder so it doesn't tilt forward. I looked at all the other options on Amazon and this seems to be the best of all the choices. It performs exactly as advertised and for the most part, does its job well. It has gotten my highest honor - a place in my car

This pair of cup holders resolved a problem I’ve had since buying my SUV last year - no place for backseat passengers to store their drinks! There are pockets in the doors that only hold small water bottles. These cup holders are perfect! They are padded, made from heavy “faux” leather, and sewn with industrial-strength thread. The backs are very rigid and the front of the holder is made from one piece, for durability. Thankfully, there is also no off-gassing to smell up the car! They function by simply hanging from the headrest of the front seats and can be easily removed. No buckles or strap adjustments. One thing I appreciate was how they were packed with foam inserts to maintain their rounded shape during transit. Very thoughtful! I inserted an insulated travel mug, measuring 9.5” at the base x 10.5” in height, and it fit like a glove. Anything bigger in diameter would be too large. There is a very solid zinc alloy hook hanging below the cup holder for bags, small umbrellas, etc., to keep them off the seat or floor. The holder is 4” wide, 3” from front to back, and approximately 9” in length from the headrest to the hook so they take up very little space. I actually use one to hold a round travel box of tissues, when it isn't being used for a cup. This product is extremely well made and should last a long time. The price reflects the quality of workmanship and durability. It is totally genius!

If people ride in the center backseat, you can't pull down the armrest with cup holders. The ones in the doors are too small for anything, but these are perfect. Now we can all ride in the backseat and have room for drinks. It obviously doesn't fit anything with a handle lower on the cup, and you can't stick a larger insulated tumbler in there. But it's fine for the ones we use and bottles/cups from gas stations and restaurants. Otherwise, I use it as a little trash bin. It doesn't get in the way or slide around much. The hook is fine for hanging hats or small/light bags, but anything heavy is going to sway a lot. It's easy to pop in and take of. Easy to wipe clean. It goes well with our black leather interior and doesn't look cheap at all! Very luxe.
