This is a great book for anyone looking to learn about Frank Lloyd Wright's ASBH project. It covers not only the Elizabeth Murphy house, but also the 'behind the scenes' turmoil as to why this endeavor didn't work out as well as the ancillary events surrounding the doomed project. This book is packed with information but is still accessible to the causal reader without requiring prior knowledge to follow and understand. Highly recommend.

This is a very well written and extensively researched book on a little know period of Wright's career: the design and construction of his affordable pre-cut American System Built Homes.

I’m not any sort of architectural expert, but I love viewing, learning about, and touring (when possible) FLW’s work. This house, of course, was new to me, and reading of the hopes and spats and victories and failures of the home’s history proved to be interesting and enlightening.

An exceptionally well written account of the legwork done to identify and restore a Wright treasure, from a period excised by the architect himself. Nicholas Hayes proves himself to be a brilliant storyteller and detective!
