Hue Flux Ultra-Bright 3-Meter LED Strip Light, 2900 lm, Vibrant Color and Ambiance, Flexible Indoor Lighting, Chromasync™ Color Blending, Cuttable, Extendable, Reusable, App and Voice Control

I am a massive fan of Philips Hue lights, almost the entirety of my home is powered by them in various shapes and sizes, in fact the only rooms that don't have a Hue light in them are a guest bedroom that's rarely used and my office because I have an E27 light with integrated fan due to how warm it gets. I've used Hue light strips for years, probably more than 10 years in fact, having previously laid them out to surround the entire living room along the floor, and more recently, covering an entire wall in my reception room. These Flux lights seem to be a new style of strip light and they are, as the product listing suggests, very bright and very vibrant - definitely better quality than the older v2/v3 strips from a few years back. I have software on my computer that can make Hue lights react to what's on the TV screen, and so I've got the 3m+2m strips to essentially surround the entire back of the TV and you can see the result of this in my video and photo. The strips are easy to install but are very difficult to bend - which is fine. You can cut the strips at 16cm segments and use any of the three different joint types also available from Philips. I got the flexible ones but I will probably get the right angle ones when they become available again. Just be sure to line up the + + markers properly otherwise the cut segments won't light up. They fit well together though, it's an easy process to follow. The strips are quite durable and feel a lot thicker than the "budget" models Philips are now coming out with. As long as you have the Hue bridge you will be granted all of the power of the Hue app which means colours, brightness and automation. My light strip comes on when I enter the room at a certain ambient light level, and turns off when I tell Alexa it's bedtime. I rarely touch light switches in my house nowadays.

As one of the earliest adopters of Phillips Hue, I have a lot of their equipment! This pricey 3m light strip is excellent quality, bright and in conjunction with their software very versatile. It is a great upgrade from their earlier products, I really like it. The (giftable) box contains the light strip, encased in a crystal-clear domed sleeve with pre-applied adhesive on the back; a UK-only wall-plug power supply; a stub cable to convert the end of the strip to the connector format of the controller; and a very compact wireless controller with a round power socket. It's all very standard Hue stuff to install and configure - it's very easy if you haven't done it, but I do recommend you invest in a Hue Bridge as it makes their products so much more useful to be able to control from a network. I do like it all and as someone with a big Hue investment I do like it. So why only four stars? Well, first I consider the omission of a joining clip a bit mean for an £85 product. It advertises being cuttable but if you do so to go round a corner, you'll need to fork out £17 on a plastic clip . Second, using a wall PSU is a bad decision. It is a real bonus to be able to mount the PSU out of harm's way somewhere, especially if your sockets have poor floor clearance like mine. Having said that I am delighted Signify (the new owner of the brand) is continuing to evolve. Long may it last!

I work from home full-time, and after spending way too long staring at a poorly lit desk setup, I decided to do something about it. I ran the Philips Hue Flux strip along the underside of my desk shelf and around the back of my monitor, and it has genuinely changed how much I enjoy sitting down to work each day. The 2900 lumen output means it actually contributes real, usable light to the room rather than just sitting there looking pretty, which I wasn't expecting at this price point compared to cheaper strips I had tried before. During the day, I keep it set to one of the cooler white tones, which feels clean and focused, and then as the afternoon rolls into evening, I shift it to something warmer through the Hue app to reduce eye strain. The transition between those white tones is incredibly smooth, and the colours look genuinely pure rather than that slightly off, yellowish tint you get with cheaper LED strips. I also had to cut a small section to get it to fit neatly around a corner on my desk, and being able to reuse that cut piece elsewhere with a connector rather than just binning it was a really thoughtful design feature. Alexa integration works without any fuss, too, so I can adjust the brightness mid-call without breaking my flow. If you spend a lot of time at a desk, this is absolutely worth it.

My house is already filled with Phillips hue lighting which I purchased myself, and I was more than pleased to have this offered. Setup was as easy. My hue bridge connected to it right away without any issues, and then it was good to go. The light strip really is at the premium end. There are so bright I have had to turn them down a bit! The app is as always very easy to use and so easy to change the colour. I did not use the sticky back, as I used the mounting brackets, but they went up without any issues and I was able to cut them to the correct length without issue. Overall very pleased with them!

So if you're new to the Philips Hue system, like I am, then you should be aware that to get the best from this kit, you're going to need the Hue bridge, as this is just a simple kit. However you can still use these without the bridge by using the app on your mobile phone, but if you're planning on buying more items from the Hue ecosystem then it might be worth biting the bullet and getting the bridge as well. That aside then, this is a 3M kit, so you get the LED strip, a power supply, and a small controller box. First impressions were that this was a very high quality LED strip with a clear coating over the LEDs, unlike the basic cheap ones you can buy and they're about 50% wider than those that I've previously bought. Setting up is easy, just connect the strip to the connector box on one side and then the power supply into the other side. The connection from the LED strip is very small, it does connect in ok, but I do wish these were more robust to prevent accidental disconnections. When powered on the strip is nice and bright with an excellent range of colours and as I was looking at the quality of the strip, I noticed that it is cuttable however the connection points look very different to what I've seen before and on further digging, of course, you have special connectors that you need to buy. The strip is nice and flexible, I'm not sure how well you'd be able to bend it around corners, for say, using on the back of a TV, but for going around the edge of a desk, or kitchen counter etc. then it's excellent in that regard. As I'm writing this review, this kit is priced at £85 which is certainly on the expensive side, however these do feel excellent quality compared to cheaper strips that I've bought in the past. Whether they do a better job or last as long as the cheaper ones is yet to be determined but if you've already bought into the Hue ecosystem then these are certainly worth looking into.
