I recently purchased this safe, and I’m extremely satisfied with my decision. The build quality is solid, providing a great level of security for my valuables. I bought this for my son to protect his valuables. It rates great and I like the the Key if you need it. It is not heavy so that is what I dont understand since it fireproof. My safe weighes double what this one does but its not the same brand. So I am taking away 1 star.

I got the safe to keep my physical cash & receipts somewhere safe without others in the house meddling with them. I still live with my parents, and my mom has made a habit of "borrowing" money and never returning it, so this was perfect for me. I've had it for a little under a month and really like it so far - it's very easy to use and small enough to store somewhere out of view. I also initially ran into a few bumps but the customer service corrected things and are super friendly & diligent! That's always really reassuring to me when shopping online. The only thing I would forewarn others about is that if you are looking for a legitimate fireproof safe, you will need to take the time to save a good chunk of money. Genuine fireproof safes are THOUSANDS of dollars. Please be very careful with your irreplaceable valuable items and place them somewhere that you are 99% sure is safe from damage or loss. That said, this is a great little safe for day to day use and keeping unwanted hands off of your money, jewelry, etc. and I do recommend it for people like me just wanting to lock certain things in a space you'll remember and keep tight for the time being. 4 stars for the product and the extra star for great customer service! :)

Nice safe. Good size. Like the mute function on the keypad. Feel safe knowing it has a key back-up as well as a battery pack backup to open it in case the batteries die. Seems sturdy. There are two holes in the back and if not hidden or secured to the wall or bolted down it could be stolen and possibly cut open? But it's good for a home safe to secure documents and a stash of cash. The bolts on the door closure are large and sturdy. (Be aware the fire proof bag is pretty tiny. I expected it to be letter size. It's more like a coin purse.lol) Good price as well. The only reason I left a star off is: What idiot decided that writing "SAFE BOX" on the side of the box this is shipped in was a good idea? Like let's alert the entire apartment complex to the fact that this person has valuables they want to lock up ...?!? Not the smartest packaging I've ever seen. Hopefully someone from Amazon will read this and change that for anyone who purchases it in the future. But as far as the product goes - it really seems like a good little safe. I'll update if necessary.

"Large Fire proof Safe Box" is not an accurate description. This is a single wall, less than 1/8" thick metal box with a "safe-like door" and a modestly-sized, allegedly fire proof envelope that fits inside the box and can fit a few pieces of full sized paper or a modest amount of bills. The door is the only part that looks like a safe and that's all it does - *look* like a safe. The three 20mm "anti-pry" locking bolt mechanisms are only on one side of the door and the other side is held in place by two apparently "pro-pry" roughly 3/16" hext bolts that also act as hinges fitted into two holes drilled into roughly 1/8" metal. (see pictures) Someone who wanted to could simply pry open the door on the hinged side without much effort, but I suspect it would be even easier to simply whack it with a hammer at the seam at the back bottom and pry it open from there with the same hammer. A grinder would give you full access to the entire interior in less than one minute. But honestly? If I was trying to break in and steal something from this thing I'd just pick it up and walk out with it. It's almost easy enough to carry under one arm. The box does appear to be almost waterproof save for a manufacturing error on mine that would allow water in where a bad weld left a 1.5" gap that you can slide your fingernail or several gallons of water into (to say nothing of course the two mounting holes pre-drilled into back of the device. I will confess I wasn't really looking for a safe for security, this was mostly to have a locking fireproof and waterproof box for documents like birth certificates, SSN cards, deeds, and vehicle titles, but the description was inaccurate enough and the stupid one sided locking mechanism was gimmicky enough that I decided to return it rather than live with the shame of having bought something so cartoon-like.

I like the size of this safe and that it came with a fireproof bag. It was also in my price range. The safe itself is advertised as fireproof but I’m skeptical as there are 2 holes in the back for mounting it and I am not planning on mounting mine. I am disappointed about the holes in the back but I put what I could in the fireproof bag and hopefully I’ll never have to worry about a fire anyway. It was easy to set up with a new passcode and it works well. Seems like it is very secure when locked. The metal isn’t super thick but I think it will do its job for the most part.

Very large and heavy steel safe. Easy to understand instructions and came with bolts and wall mount inserts to affix it to a wall. Plan to store some valuables, my paperwork and jewelry and handguns in to keep them safe.
