If you, like 1-6% of the UK population, have a latex allergy then you need non-latex condoms (and it's much higher rates for of nurses, from all that glove wearing at work!) But non-latex condoms have a higher rate of breaking - which is almost always due to two things [1] a poor fit that either stretches them, leaves them too loose or lets them slip off [2] failing to warm it up before putting it on (30 seconds in hot hands makes a BIG difference to how it goes on!) - remember this is a big difference if you've been used to latex ones and is essential to make them reliable. The "Skins" brand XLs are only 2mm wider than their standard size ones (which in turn are wider than many other brands) - but the real benefit is in length as these are 3cm longer. If it isn't long enough - it soon slips off when you get passionate. Don't trust him - men never get measurements right for sizing and as latex allergy rarely affects them - and don't always have the control to wait 30 seconds - so you'll have to be the one taking the lead on measuring and showing him how to use them. These Skins brand are great - I got no itching afterwards and because it is longer, has had no slipping off at the wrong moment (it is hard to enjoy things if you are anxious and always reaching down to check!). Fit - the length of these is 19cm long - or just over 7 inches; the standards are 16cm - just over 6 inches. And yes - you have to measure it, as no man volunteers a size anything close to 6", trust me! Value - non-latex condoms cost more, as do special sizes - but what price keeping out of trouble and reducing anxiety? There are several brands with XL sizes - but only a few with latex-free options. I'm good with these - he doesn't complain as these are extra thin and give good feel- so if both are happy these have to get a 5* rating and I'd be happy to get them again.

The material is soft and comfortable, and since they’re non latex, there’s no irritation or allergic reaction. That alone makes a big difference. What stands out most is how thin they feel. They’re ultra thin but still strong, so you get that closer, more natural sensation. Another big plus is that there’s no bad smell. Some condoms have that strong latex odor that can kill the mood, but these are clear and completely odourless, which makes the experience feel more natural and less distracting.

The material is a very interesting one. It's both very thin (I can believe the 0.01mm figure, around a sixth of the average latex condom) and fine to use with oil-based lubes in a way that latex definitely isn't. What it doesn't do is stretch. When circular, they're about 35mm in diameter. If you can't fit the erection in question through say the inner tube of a standard toilet roll, which is slightly wider than that, you're going to have problems putting these on, even if you do take on board the tip around warming them up first - this makes the material much more flexible. Given that when they're on a warm thing, in my case a silicone toy that's been in hot water, they do mould to the shape, I wonder why these don't start off bigger. Or have an XXL / XXXL size. Putting a latex condom on those thicknesses isn't easy, but you can at least do it, especially if it's not lubricated. If this is not a problem for whoever will be wearing this, they are apparently very nice.

Priced at £14 for 8 these are reasonably priced if you need something hypoallergenic as they are much less common. I found them to be less comfortable that latex because there really wasn't as much stretch as I would have liked in them and they had overall a bit of a plastic type feel to them. I know maybe that is really what is going to happen with a different material to latex but I didn't like it so much. I also found that they didn't have much lubrication so I would have preferred more to be included. I used extra but it just made the experience a bit worse. As these are intended for pleasure I'd like it to be as easy and comfortable as possible but I didn't get that from this product which is why I haven't given a high rating. Maybe its the nature of anything non-latex which if you need then your choices are limited but I wasn't too impressed here.

Finding a good condom that actually fits comfortably can be a real struggle, but these are an actually pretty good!!! It makes the whole experience feel a lot more natural and pleasant. The super thin material is another huge plus. They are so thin that you almost forget you’re wearing anything at all, but they still feel very strong and safe. You get that "barely there" feeling without worrying about them breaking. It means I will have 8 special nights!!!
