Absolutely Wonderful!
I don't really understand the negative reviews here. The only thing that could be improved is the packaging, but that is a minor issue. The video is just like it was in the 70's which adds to the charm of this classic sitcom. If you have never seen All In The Family and are part of the PC society, you will probably not like it, but in the day it was cutting edge satire. This show proves that you can't take stuff seriously and sometimes you just need to get a big laugh for the sake of humor. Yes, Archie is a bigoted ignoramus, but that is what makes it so funny. If you are up tight and easily offended, don't watch it, but if you can take humor as it is intended, for the sake of humor, you will be laughing for hours.I watched it in the 70's and I still watch it because it is hilarious. Not to mention that the TV shows Maude and The Jeffersons were great spin offs from this classic series.

Classic sitcom - not for the woke
In the days when we were able to laugh at ourselves and take a joke, a show like this was able to be on TV. Today, all the sick wokeness in the USA is killing comedy and our freedom of speech. If you haven't seen this sitcom, you may be surprised to find that bad words and bigotry can be funny, and the world doesn't end, believe it or not. Only the little minds of the present woke crowd would call for this show to be erased from the sitcom library. Watch it and learn to laugh at yourself, you might find that life is a little more enjoyable if you do.

this series is great
There isn't much you can say in today's world about all in the family, but I've got to say he is the crown jewel of what typical misinformation can do to the neighbors around you? Archie & Edith are you typical married couple middle class back in the 60's so you take it from there but I've watched the series so far and rolled in laughter, he reminds me of my father and mother, when I was growing up,hell we did not have that much understanding of what was going on in the world at that age , this series is well worth the price so sit back and laugh, and remember what it was like when you were growing up!

Iconic show that brings bigotry to light in an unprecedented way, but...
Seasons 3, 4, & 5 are blurry--I know TV in the 1970s wasn't anywhere near as clear as HD (obviously), but it was never this blurry. This transfer from the original copies to these DVDs is hard to watch because they're blurry, also because there are no subtitles for Seasons 3, 4, or 5 either. Why those three seasons weren't treated with the respect and care afforded Seasons 1 & 2 is anybody's guess.Still a great show-- that this show was ever put on air was a blessing: on the show, that Archie was so blind to his own ignorance, bigotry, and fear, was meant to be an in-joke: we laughed at his lack of intelligence. But here it is 2020, and 36% of our country is not laughing; they probably think Archie is their hero, which was the LAST thing Norman Lear could ever perceived being the case.Beware-- Starting in Season 3, Archie gets angrier and more, as Jean Stapleton herself agreed, more verbally abusive to Edith. That's not fun to watch. My favorite characters were the heart and soul of the show: Edith Bunker and Lionel Jefferson, respectively. Those two characters represented loving people for who they are, regardless of skin color, sex, religion, e.t.c.Probably one of the most ingenius comedies mirroring a particularly difficult time in our country's existence (compared to now? it's amazing how the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movement, Richard "E" Nixon and Watergate pales in comparison to the fall of our Democracy we're witnessing now. I know Carroll O'Connor, a lifelong Democrat who believed in the rights of the hard working people of this country, and equal rights for everyone, is rolling over in his grave.)The DVD set = 3 StarsAll In The Family = 5 Stars

Oh, I just love Archie and Edith Bunker ......
I just love All In The Family. Item came on time, and in perfect condition. There is no skipping, no scratches. I give this item a well deserved 5 star's. I do wish though, that the CD's were stored in the case a little different, but for the price, I can live with that part not being perfect. The CD's came in there case stacked with no deviders or sleeves. But there was some cardboard to help hold them in place while being shipped.

Best Show
"All in the Family" debuted in the late 1960's. It was revolutionary at the time with a warning label on it because of subject matter and language (remember that?). It changed the way we view television for all time and, today, remains one of the best things ever put on TV. Watch it again today and remember what it taught us. Thank you Norman Lear.

Still great humor
In an era where everyone has to be overly careful to be "politically correct" this DVD set is very refreshing! Archie Bunker still makes me laugh! Edith is great as well. So, if you're overly sensitive to bigoted remarks this wouldn't be for you. However, if you just enjoy old fashioned, cynical, judgmental humor this would be a great buy!

Good quality
Good quality. Great show from the past. How times change.Back then you could not swear on tv like they do today but some of the content from this would take down a show instantly these days.

Great Show
This was when the series was at it's best, when Gloria and Mike still lived at the house.

This set does include 5 COMPLETE seasons.
I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this set based on other reviews. It was stated several times that this set doesn't contain full seasons, and that the Maude episodes were missing. Well I'm happy to say that this set does indeed include the first 5 COMPLETE seasons, every episode is there. The episode quality is as good as can be expected from an almost 50 year old sitcom that was shot on tape and not film. The reason I only gave 4 stars is because the packaging is substandard, but you get what you pay for. 30 bucks for 5 COMPLETE seasons...I can tolerate the second rate packaging.
